I cannot get any sound and am having a problem installing the beta drivers they install, but still no sound.

No Sound - XFi sound card
Make sure you install the Beta drivers and don't just use the update driver mechanism to point to the driver folder.
You need to run through the Creative install and then use the Creative configuration. This card can run different stuff through different ports and it may not be the same as it was in XP.

I got the driver at http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/
Choose Sound Blaster, X-Fi and Pro
I was able to install the driver they provided and then struggled through their Line in/Line out app to figure out which was the right plug.
